In doing my chicken math and adding a couple more chicks (ok, it was 10), we were blessed with a barred rock rooster. He has been named appropriately and is quickly entering his ‘bad hair’ stage. We hold him, scratch him and interact with him daily to try and keep his silly personality intact as his hormones take over. Posing for the camera is not Duane’s strong suit. Luckily, Barred Rocks are the lapdog of chickens and Duane has a really good chance of not being one of “those” roosters.
