When your pullets are preparing to lay eggs, they’ll squat and spread their wings when you walk up behind them. This is their way of preparing for a rooster. Once they start this behavior, you’ll have eggs within 10 days. You do not need to have a rooster to get eggs. The rooster’s job is to fertilize eggs and provide protection.
